Maintenance Electrician - Social Housing

Overview:

We are currently looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Electrician to join our team, working on reactive maintenance within social housing properties across Berkshire, Hampshire, and surrounding areas. This is a mobile role with a company van and fuel card provided. You will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day electrical repairs, testing, and installations in both occupied and void social housing units.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and complete reactive electrical repairs in tenants' homes and communal areas

  • Perform fault finding, diagnostics, testing, and general repairs

  • Carry out electrical installations and upgrades where required

  • Ensure all work complies with current wiring regulations (BS7671)

  • Complete accurate documentation and update job management systems

  • Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours emergency repairs

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, following all health and safety procedures


Requirements:

  • City & Guilds 2360 / 2330 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)

  • 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing (preferred)

  • Previous experience working within domestic social housing (occupied properties preferred)

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively

  • Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota
