Role Overview:
We are recruiting for a Tier 1 Main Contractor who have an opening for you to join their Highways & Structures Maintenance team, overseeing the commercial and contractual aspects of a highways and structures inspection, maintenance, and improvement contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring commercial success while maintaining compliance with the NEC form of contract.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contract Management: Administer and manage the NEC contract, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
* Cost Control & Reporting: Monitor project costs, prepare financial reports, and ensure accurate forecasting.
* Procurement & Subcontractor Management: Lead procurement activities, negotiate contracts, and manage subcontractor relationships.
* Risk & Value Management: Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing strategies to maximize value.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, project teams, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Change Management: Assess variations, prepare compensation event submissions, and negotiate settlements.
* Payment & Claims: Prepare valuations, process payments, and manage claims in line with NEC contract requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is desirable.
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in a Tier 1 Main Contractor environment.
* Civil Engineering experience as a SQS.
* Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly in highways and infrastructure projects.
* Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and commercial risks.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
