Description and requirements
We are recruiting for a Tier 1 Main Contractor who are looking to recruit an Agent for their Major Highways Project in Norwich.
What you will do:
* Input into your direct report's annual goals and check in on the development of these regularly.
* Manage, supervise, train and mentor the site team to enable them to perform their duties effectively.
* Communicate effectively with other engineers, supervisors, enabling functions, designers, and client representatives.
* Coordinate supply chain partners to contribute to design solutions at the appropriate time to deliver a right first time design solution that can be constructed with "no in-flight change"
* Ensure construction issues are raised promptly through the delivery team, with an appropriate level of escalation to determine a suitable resolution.
What youll bring to the role:
* Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
* Effective written and verbal communication skills to diverse audiences.
* Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and common construction methodologies.
* Knowledge and understanding of temporary works processes, design and management.
* Knowledge and understanding of construction contracts (through experience and formal training). Ideally ECC NEC4.

Civil Engineering contractor, having secured new project in Launceston, are looking for a Site Engineer/Manager with civils infrastructure project experience. This is initially a 3 month contract assignment but with projected workload, this could be extended and will be starting ASAP.
The work will involve earthworks, pipelines and a pump station. Duties will include, but not be restricted to setting out using robotic equipment and providing dimensional control information; allocation sheets, supervision of the work to maintain good work practices and quality; Maintaining a good working relationship with client representatives. This role will require technical knowledge, setting out and some degree of management experience.
Applicants must have an SMSTS and be able to demonstrate a background of similar contracts in a Senior Setting Out Engineer, Sub Agent or Engineer/Agent role. The person will be a key member of the management team. Successful integration will lead to further contract opportunities.
Day rate will be competitive and in line with experience.

Role OverviewAs a Sub Agent, you will play a critical role in managing on-site operations and ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure works. Working closely with the Site Agent and Project Manager, you'll help oversee project planning, technical compliance, and site coordination across major civil engineering schemes, such as roads, bridges, marine works, and energy infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead site teams in daily construction operations, ensuring high standards of HSEQ compliance.
Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain smooth workflow.
Produce and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements).
Interpret technical drawings and specifications; ensure all work is delivered in line with design and contract requirements.
Contribute to short-term programming and resource planning.
Assist with commercial reporting, cost tracking, and material procurement.
Support quality assurance and audit processes on-site.
Maintain strong communication with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications & ExperienceHNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 4 years' experience in civil engineering, ideally on large infrastructure or heavy civils projects.
Strong knowledge of industry regulations and site practices.
Proficient in reading technical drawings and specifications.
SMSTS, CSCS (Gold or above), and First Aid certification.
NEC contract experience advantageous.
Full UK driving licence.
