This is a hands-on, project-focused role where you will be responsible for instructing, tracking, reviewing and closing fire remedial works, maintaining accurate compliance data, and ensuring clear, regular reporting. You will manage a £1 million budget to deliver these works, ensuring they are prioritised, actioned efficiently, and aligned with fire safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, prioritise and validate outstanding actions from Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs).Instruct and manage remedial works through internal teams and external contractors.Review and sign off completed works on-site or through contractor evidence to confirm compliance.Maintain and update asset compliance systemsProduce detailed reports on action status, progress, risks, and planned delivery.Support asset data reconciliation and ensure audit readiness.Liaise with Compliance, Housing, Property Services and Repairs teams to coordinate works.Ensure delivery of actions within scope, timelines and budget.Escalate high-risk or overdue items and propose remedial action plans.Report into relevant boards and cabinet meetings.Candidate Profile:

Competent to complete a wide variety carpentry, plumbing and other trade tasks at multiskilled level and in accordance with the Skills Awards L2/3 NVQ Diploma in Maintenance Operations or equivalent. Tasks include plumbing, carpentry and masonry both internally and externally to HA properties and communal areas.Ensure that work is carried out to a professional standard, adhering to building regulations, codes of practice or best practice.To liaise with customers and other colleagues, as appropriate, to ensure all relevant individuals are aware of progress and action taken.
