In this role you will be responsible for carrying out full BMS commissioning to comply with the project requirements. You will also be responsible for managing small-scale projects from start to finish. This will include production of schedules, description of operation, modification of the panel design, production/modification of drawings and when required the creation of software and graphics.

You will be expected to work well as part of a commissioning team but also work efficiently on your own as required. You may be responsible for supervising junior engineers, ensuring they work effectively and safely whilst on site. You will be part of the projects commissioning team therefore the sharing of technical knowledge with other engineers is encouraged whilst obtaining support from the team when necessary. This is a high-profile senior management function with a direct impact not only on the success of the national division but the company.

Main Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall management of smaller scale projects and ensuring the projects are delivered in line with the program of works and intended design

Responsible for making backups of software and strategy files as required for all associated systems/sites

Ensure compliance with company H&S and CDM requirements, including production of relevant documentation.

To liaise with sub-contract engineers and clients and report back with any design or engineering changes or issues

Responsible for building and maintaining strong client relations

Responsible for day-to-day management of sub-contractors

Responsible for attending site-based commissioning/progress meetings as required.

Responsible for carrying out field point to point checks, terminations, panel and wiring mods where required

Create & manage a project program of works

Responsible for commissioning various DDC control systems (TREND, Tridium or others as required), completing wiring and commissioning schedules, updating control panel drawings and the description of operation in the commissioning file

Responsible for procurement of control items, sizing control valves etc.

Ensure that all 'AS COMMISSIONED' information is collated and updated on the server

Ensure witnessing packs are appropriately signed off

Responsible for diligent demonstration and handover to client on projects

Carry out site surveys as required and produce fully detailed reports complete with recommendations

Attend training courses and meetings as required

Ensure works are carried out within the project method statement and risk assessments and amend where necessary with any required deviation

Enforce H & S interests of company on a day-to-day basis for all employees and sub-contractors, create and enforce method statements and risk assessments and update when necessary

Adhere to all client and company ISO, Health & Safety procedures, and policies

Provide technical support to team members

Be able to produce, submit and amend technical submittals for projects including but not limited to the following as required:

Description of operations

Equipment schedules

Operating and Maintenance manuals

Be able to produce IO wiring diagram to be sent to panel designer and then review design once received from panel shop

Be able to produce RFI's and tech subs to be sent to the client

Any other duties deemed necessary by the directors/managers of the business

Good understanding of Safe Systems of Work and the importance of H&S in the workplace

Technical

Experienced with at least one of the following systems:

Trend

Tridium

Schneider

Siemens

ALC

Knowledge of Niagara based systems

Ability to correctly interpret and alter existing control strategy in BMS systems

Knowledgeable with HVAC systems

Electrically Competent

Strong PC skills (Word and Excel)

Our client is looking for an experienced BMS Project Engineer to be based in Manchester.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage, design, and engineer small and medium-sized BMS projects from order received to completion. This includes responsibility for H&S, procurement, supervision of sub-contractors, coordinating programmes of works and our BMS Engineers, customer interaction, and financial/budget control.

What You'll Do
* Project engineering and management of small and medium sized projects, running single or multiple jobs.
* Communicate and work well with customers, colleagues and management.
* Designing, engineering and commissioning of BMS, including the development of BMS solutions.
* Generating and controlling all Health and Safety requirements, including site audits.
* Liaising with the administration team to plan labour requirements.
* Maintaining financial control of the project(s).
* Supervising sub-contractors if required.
* Carrying out standard BMS engineer tasks to be fulfilled when workload is insufficient.
