We're currently recruiting for an experienced Finisher / Snagger to join a leading contractor on a new build housing development in Sheffield.

This role will involve working closely with the site management team to ensure all properties are finished to a high standard ahead of client handover.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out final snagging works in completed plots

Fix minor defects including plaster patches, siliconing, painting, and touch-ups

Adjust doors, handles, and ironmongery as required

Complete internal cosmetic fixes and minor joinery works

Ensure all work meets NHBC and client standards

Communicate with the site team to report progress and highlight any additional issues

Requirements:

Proven experience in a similar finishing/snagging role within new build housing

Strong multi-trade background (basic joinery, decorating, patch plastering etc.)

CSCS card (required)

Own tools and PPE

Strong eye for detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

You will play a pivotal role in helping the Property Services with the delivery of various larger scale Joinery works across their Major Void Backlog including assisting with various Planned Repairs Projects.

Your new role as Joiner:

As a Joiner you will be working as part of a wider team delivering essential repairs/replacements to their empty void social housing properties or completing Planned Repair works for existing or new tenants. You will need to be confident in carrying out all aspects of joinery works to a high standard including removal and renewal of kitchens, bathrooms, internal second fix joinery, responsible for joinery repairs including but not limited to floor boarding, door ease/renew and kitchen unit repairs.

The Experience Required:

NVQ Level 3 in Joinery or equivalent, previous experience of carrying out Joinery work to a high standard on repairs and maintenance and refurbishment projects.

You will be an essential part of delivering a major Highways Maintenance Contract, ensuring the commercial efficiency and contractual compliance of the project under NEC forms of contract. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility of working from home a couple of days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage project costs and ensure financial targets are achieved.
* Administer NEC contracts, including handling early warnings, compensation events, and agreement of final accounts.
* Monitor and control budgets and project forecasts.
* Oversee subcontractor procurement and manage their performance.
* Provide accurate and timely financial reports to senior management.
* Collaborate with project teams to optimize value engineering.
* Support and mentor junior team members as required.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in Infrastructure or Utilities, preferably within a Tier 1 Main Contractor.
* Strong knowledge and application of NEC forms of contract.
* Background in highways, infrastructure, or maintenance projects is advantageous.
* Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
* Strong ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
* Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS).
