Job Summary:
We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor with strong civil engineering experience to join a major infrastructure project in Plymouth. The successful candidate will have a proven track record working with a UK Main Contractor and will be responsible for managing project costs, contracts, and financial reporting to ensure the successful delivery of works within budget and timeline constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and procurement strategies.
* Conduct detailed financial reporting and forecasting to support project performance.
* Administer contracts under NEC forms of contract and ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
* Monitor subcontractor agreements, valuations, and payments.
* Provide commercial support and risk management strategies.
* Work closely with project managers and engineers to provide cost control and value engineering solutions.
* Undertake site visits to assess progress, validate claims, and address commercial issues.
* Handle variations, change orders, and negotiations effectively.
* Assist in the preparation and submission of final accounts.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Recent experience working with a UK Main Contractor on civil engineering projects.
* Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
* Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders, clients, and project teams.
* Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong understanding of UK construction regulations and industry standards.

Job Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Domestic Electrician to join a growing team. This role involves a variety of electrical tasks within private residential properties, supporting insulation and home improvement projects.
This is a field-based position with a company van provided. It will begin on a temporary basis with the potential to transition into a permanent role. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out domestic electrical installations and rewiring
Perform electrical testing and inspections in line with current regulations
Install and maintain extractor fans, sockets, and other electrical fittings
Work in conjunction with insulation and home energy efficiency upgrades (e.g., IWI insulation)
Complete and issue electrical certificates (EIC, EICR, etc.)
Liaise professionally with homeowners, ensuring minimal disruption and excellent service
Travel between client sites (mileage reimbursed)
Requirements
Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
Valid ECS card (preferred)
Proven experience in domestic electrical work, including testing and certification
Full UK driving licence
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
