Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Based out of either Falmer or Snodland

We are recruiting for a Main Contractor who have opportunities for you to join them on either their Southern Water or South East Water Contracts based out of either Falmer or Snodland.

Personal Attributes

* Water Industry/Wastewater or MEICA experience required
* The ability to work autonomously to tight deadlines
* Degree Qualified in a relevant Cost/Commercial subject with demonstrable experience desirable
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role for a UK Main Contractor
* Effective communication skills including the ability to give presentations/reports to all levels including external stakeholder
* Proficient IT Skills, with a strong working knowledge of Excel and Word as a minimum
* Strong commercial acumen including demonstratable experience in preparation of detailed cost reports & forecasts
* Strong negotiation skills
* Proficient in the management and administration of NEC3/4 contracts

Role Summary

* Taking ownership of a number of projects from tender handover to final account
* Monitor and cost efficiency within the operations teams
* Cashflow & sales forecasting
* Monthly payment applications
* Cost/value reporting
* Assess and raise required sub-contract certificates as required
* Budget management including procurement of sub-contractors and preparation of contract documents
* Review and negotiate contract/sub-contract T&C's
* Attendance at both internal and external meetings
* Promotes safe working practices within commercial function
* Mentor and develop junior commercial and project delivery team personnel
* Liaison with other departments and carrying out other duties as required
* Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post

Job Title: P6 Lead Planner

Location: Kent

Flexible Working: This position offers flexible working from home

Reporting to: Head of Pre-Construction

Hours of work: 45 hours per week

We are working with a Main Contractor who are recruiting a P6 Planner for their Water contracts in Kent.

The successful candidate will be required to visit project sites in the region to gather information, monitor progress, or assist with troubleshooting and attend client meetings.

Experience required

* Previous experience as a Planner in Utilities for a UK Main Contractor.
* Experience on Water projects is preferred.
* Ability to work with and interpret large sets of data and schedules.
* Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
* Ability to identify potential risks and propose solutions.
* Strong problem-solving skills, especially in dealing with delays or conflicts in schedules.
* Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
* Excellent communication skills for reporting and presenting data to stakeholders.
* Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and clients.

Technical Specification

* Experience of Project Management methodologies and tools.
* Experience of Project Controls.
* Advanced understanding of Primavera P6.
* Knowledge of NEC3.
* Strong understanding of project scheduling, planning, and project management principles.
* Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) and Earned Value Management (EVM).

Essential Qualifications

* A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field.

Desirable Qualifications

* Project management certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or scheduling-specific certifications (e.g., Primavera P6 Certification).
