Job Title: Site Engineer
Location: Largs, Scotland
Our client is a well-established construction company with extensive experience delivering high-quality building projects across Scotland. They specialise in complex retail, commercial, and industrial developments with a strong commitment to sustainability and excellence.
OverviewWe are recruiting a Site Engineer to join the Building Division team for an important retail unit project in Largs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the site team to deliver the project safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support to the site management team through all construction phases.
Interpret and manage design drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Conduct site inspections to ensure progress, quality, and health & safety compliance.
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, and documentation.
Assist with risk assessments and method statements.
Support senior site management to meet project milestones while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Ensure compliance with company policies and sustainable construction practices.
Candidate RequirementsRelevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
Proven experience as a Site Engineer, ideally within retail or commercial projects.
Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and site safety standards.
Competent in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in site management software and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with a focus on discretion.
Valid CSCS card or equivalent certification.
Full UK driving license preferred.
