My client is currently seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to help deliver a high-quality grounds maintenance service across a portfolio of managed estates. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining communal green spaces to the highest horticultural standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver effective grounds maintenance services as directed by the Grounds Maintenance Team Leader across communal areas of my client's managed estates.Duties include grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, weed control, litter picking, and other tasks as required.Record all site visits and tasks using the PDA reporting system.Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety policies and procedures, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.Participate in regular "Toolbox Talks" and identify any health & safety or training needs.Use appropriate tools and equipment with best horticultural practices in mind.Ensure tools and equipment are regularly cleaned, maintained, and any defects are promptly reported.Maintain cleanliness of all vehicles and perform regular checks on oil and coolant levels, reporting any faults to the fleet manager.Support other trades as needed to ensure customers receive excellent service.Carry out any additional duties appropriate to the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a housing association, Direct Labour Organisation, or grounds maintenance setting.Strong understanding of practical and technical issues related to grounds maintenance.Skilled in the use of both mechanical and hand tools relevant to the job.Possession of a National Proficiency Test Certificate for safe pesticide use (PA1, PA6a).Full UK driving licence with towing capability.Ability to adapt communication style and approach depending on the situation or person.Strong verbal communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy, and a commitment to high service standards.Must embody and uphold the values and behaviours expected by my client.
