Based in Glasgow, our Housing Association client has an immediate need for a Housing Officer to fill a temporary contract for approx. 3 months, however the role could last longer. The position could offer Hybrid working opportunities.
The position is based in the Housing Management team and will focus on allocations and void management, but will also cover areas such as estate management, neighbourhood management, antisocial behaviour and tenancy sustainment, tenant engagement and compliance. With the support from the well-established Housing Management and Maintenance Teams, you will manage and resolve issues occurring in your area. Ideally the successful candidate will have excellent people skills, report writing skills, has a good housing knowledge, can link with partner agencies and is able to show a genuine desire to help tenants through some difficult times.
Candidates will ideally have experience working in the Social Housing sector and in addition you will be available at short notice. Undertake the management of staff on site relating to your projects. Attend site visits with client, commercial team and supply chain. Liaise with clients, design teams and any other stakeholders. Your new role

* Assisting with the development and implementation of improvement plans for the service
* Working closely with colleagues, stakeholders and other teams to maintain and build positive relationships
* Carrying out project work as required on behalf of the Directors/Chief Exec
What you'll need to succeed
* A minimum of 12 months' housing management experience with line management responsibilities
* Strong knowledge and understanding of housing legislation and good practice including the Complaints Handling Code

* Able to attend evening meetings, work an on call rota and work from office 5 x days per week

The position will lead a team of engineers, managing PPMS, Reactive Maintenance, Carrying out HV AP Switching, writing switching schedules, carrying out site audits and ensuring the engineering processes are followed in line with statutory compliance as-well as SLAs etc.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
* To provide technical advice and support for the site based Authorised Persons
* Carry out HV & LV Switching (need demonstratable AP or SAP Experience)
* Lead, plan and deliver agreed changes to improve performance on site.
* * Ensure all planned maintenance is completed to an acceptable standard and the scopes of the works are suitable for the equipment installed.
* Implement and maintain an action plan which contains all actions from any audits carried out, including annual audits from the Authorising Engineers and ensure they signed off correctly and in a timely manner.
* Work with site based authorised Persons to produce a forward maintenance register and capital plan to proactively assist the Hospital in managing their estate.
* Carry out assessments of any site based Authorised Persons and ensure that their training and appointment are in date.
* Ensure consistency within the site log books.
* Ensure the permit system is being followed and suitable for the requirements.
* Check and authorise any relevant HV switching programmes.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in holding Authorised Person / AP role. (HV & LV Qualified with the ability to write HV Switching Schedules and Authorise any switching)
- Extensive knowledge of Building Services
- Extensive supervisory / management experience
- Qualified to HNC / HND Level or equivalent
- Full Electrical/Mechanical or Air Conditioning Qualifications
