Job Summary:
We are looking to recruit a temporary Commercial Pricing Manager to join our Immigration & Justice Business Development team on a permanent basis to support through a busy period.
Reporting to the Commercial Lead and working closely with the Immigration and Justice Business Development Team, the role is characterised by having commercial and financial responsibility for allocated tenders. Typically, the job involves significant internal & external stakeholder engagement.
The role requires strong commercial and financial acumen, together with excellent data analysis, manipulation, and interrogation skills and the ability to effectively own pricing model and client return document, or manage and oversee those completed by the Pricing Modeller, ensuring maintenance of the highest standards.
A confident and clear presenter, comfortable explaining technical ideas in simple terms to senior stakeholders.
Previous industry (Immigration & Justice) experience and an accounting qualification (or similar) are both desirable qualities.
Facilities Management pricing and labour loading is desirable, but not essential.
Role Purpose
Provide strategic commercial management of tender opportunities for the sales activity to achieve increases in income and profit consistent with business objectives & targets.
Support Bid Directors in developing winning commercial strategies for allocated bids consistent with sales strategies and plans that deliver business success in the short and long term, aligned with the Group strategies and objectives.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to ensure appropriate levels of engagement in developing pricing solutions, thereby ensuring the highest quality bid submission at the most competitive price
2. Lead the Price to Win strategy by supporting the development of the bid solution, identification, and mitigation of risks (commercial contractual, performance and pricing), performing sensitivity analysis on key variables, competition scenario modelling, and reviewing bid evaluation criteria
3. Complete pricing models (or manage completion by Pricing Modeller) to ensure compliance with required modelling standards and pricing methodology guidelines.
4. Represent the Business Development team as commercial lead on tenders with competitive dialogue as part of the procurement process
5. Manage completion of the commercial/pricing sections of the internal governance templates, as well as preparing P&L and Cashflow statement for tender sign off
6. Ensure appropriate levels of engagement with Legal and Group Functions to ensure all contractual risks are assessed and an approach agreed that minimises risk to the Group, whilst retaining maximum competitiveness.
7. Consult with Procurement to ensure subcontractor pricing complies with Group guidance regarding use of internal companies, and that external suppliers receive relevant extracts from tender documents to provide accurate prices.
8. Complete pricing returns (or manage completion by Pricing Modellers), ensuring they are fully compliant with tender pricing instructions.
9. Responsibility for producing Bid to Budget handover pack for Operations for all tender wins to enable contracts to be set up in line with tendered commercial position.
